Present: The Defragmented Mountains
"HeraldAngemon..."
OmniNegabyte glared down at the glowing angel floating in the air just a
kilometer away. His opponent was truly a heavenly sight. A magical
wind swept through the mountain range, carrying white doves on its breeze and
tossing the angel's brown hair. The Mega-level digimon's body glowed with
a soft, golden light that barely hinted at the power he held. Veric had
finally found the strength to digivolve into one of the only two digital
monsters that could challenge Negabyte. "So..." OmniNegabyte
growled, his low voice rumbling through the echoing mountains. "We
meet once again."
For Veric, this was the first time he'd encountered Negabyte or ever been a digimon. But he recalled the Future Guardian's stories, remembering that, in a previous version of Tsuriai's life, HeraldAngemon and her brother's digimon came close to defeating Negabyte. Now it was up to Veric to live up to that event. "Your darkness has plagued the Digital World and the Digital Universe for too long, OmniNegabyte!" HeraldAngemon spoke ominously, his voice sure and strong. "I will return balance to the chaos you've created." Then the angel digimon spread his wings and arms, his light growing stronger. "For I am the Bringer of Harmony!"
"Hmph,"
his sinister enemy smirked. "Mighty words for a lowly digital
monster." OmniNegabyte focused his orange, glowing eyes on the
angel. "Especially when it required two of you to take me
on." Now the evil creature's smirk turned up into a menacing
grin. "You don't stand a chance without ArchAngemon here to help
you."
Tsuriai suddenly took in her breath, reminded of her brother. "Ryo..."
Negabyte's
words, however, only served to fuel the fire in the hearts of the Digi-Destined
before him. Cody stood tall beside the man who had traveled all the way
from the future just to be with his daughter. The dark-haired boy knit his
brows in determination, his emerald eyes sparkling. "We'll just see
about that."
Tsuriai's father stepped forward, his fists balled as if he himself was prepared to fight the evil monster. "You'll have to fight us, too!" the aging man shouted.
OmniNegabyte turned his attention to two tiny humans standing side by side on a floating rock fragment. "Is that so?" his eyes flashed a burning orange. Then the dark monster started to move toward Tsuriai's father and Cody. "Pesky humans," OnmiNegabyte snarled. "I'll just have to take care of you first."
Tsuriai's heart stopped in an instant. "Daddy!" she cried in fright. "Cody!" OmniNegabyte moved his massive arm toward two people she cared very much for. He was going to crush them with his hand.
The Future Guardian dove through the air toward Cody and TK. "Watch out!"
Both
Angemon and Ankylomon looked on in horror as their Digi-Destined partners were
in danger. "TK! Cody!" They had to do something!
And then, as if in answer to their prayers, the digivices of Tsuriai's father and Cody started to beep and whine...
Ankylomon...
Angemon...
...DNA digivolve to...
"WHAT?!?!" OmniNegabyte hesitated a moment, his mammoth hand stopping its progress toward the frail and tiny humans he wished to be rid of once and for all. "What's this?"
Angered, HeraldAngemon summoned one of his attacks. "Leave them alone!" he demanded. "I will not allow you to hurt my family anymore!" He brought his armored arm up to his chest, the purple metal gleaming in light. Quickly, power collected there, forming a large, five-pointed star. The Mega-level digimon then reared his arm back and shot it forth, tossing his magic weapon as if it were a ninja star.
Star of Peace!
This sharp object sliced through OmniNegabyte's rough skin, leaving a scorching gash just below his eye. "AARRGGHH!"
But everyone's attention was elsewhere. "What's going on?!" Tsuriai asked. She didn't understand what was happening to the other two digimon, either. Cody's and her father's digivices were mingling their unique powers and transferring this new data to both Ankylomon and Angemon. And now, something inconceivable was happening to the two Champion-level digimon. "What are they doing?!"
"They're DNA digivolving!" the Future Guardian couldn't have been more excited. She hovered near TK and Cody, circling them. "They're combining powers!"
...Shakkoumon!
Perturbed
by HeraldAngemon's attack and this new digivolution he had never seen before,
OmniNegabyte growled, showing his fangs. Then he dove once more for TK and
Cody, his mission to destroy his opposition unphased. "RAAAGGGHH!!!!!"
In an instant, the mutant and angel digimon positioned themselves right in front of the humans, bracing themselves for OmniNegabyte. Shakkoumon eyed the monster's gargantuan hand.
Justice Beam!
HeraldAngemon threw out one of his attacks as well, protecting Tsuriai's father and her good friend from harm.
Divine Elements!
Out of nowhere, five colored spirits streaked through the dark night, gunning straight for OmniNegabyte. They looked like a comet with the head of an animal and a tail of colored light, each representing a basic element of the Real World: the green wolf as Earth, the yellow eagle as Wind, the red dragon as Fire, the blue shark as Water, and the white samurai as Life.
"AAAHHHH!!!!" OmniNegabyte roared in anger and pain. Shakkoumon's laser beam and HeraldAngemon's elemental spirits cut right through the monster's hand, entering through the palm and blasting through the other side.
Both TK and Tsuriai pumped their arms in victory. "Yeah!" they shouted at the same time. Like father, like daughter.
The Future Guardian's body twinkled. Things were definitely looking up.
But Negabyte wasn't about lose to two miserable digimon and their human counterparts...
