Present: The Digital World
A large shadow passed overhead. "Hey!" Joe shielded his eyes. He and his fellow Digi-Destined looked up at the sky where a giant creature flew, his cape tossing in the wind.
Mimi stepped up to her blue-haired friend, shading her eyes as well. "Isn't that Omnimon?!" she cocked her head to one side.
"And Matt and Tai!" Sora spotted her boyfriend and best friend on the shoulders of the enormous knight digimon. In a matter of seconds, the digital monster and his two human partners faded in the distance. "Where are they going?"
Giga
Crusher!
"I don't know," Imperialdramon answered. He took a brief moment to watch Omnimon fly away, but quickly returned his attention back to the matter at hand. "But we have a job to finish."
Positron Laser!
One of the Internet Guardians traveling with Omnimon sped through the air right alongside Tai. "Do you think leaving the others behind was a wise choice?" it questioned him.
"Davis
and the others can take care of the Viral Agents," Tai replied, his face
set in determination. "Right now," he went on, "we're
needed over there." He stared straight ahead, his hair whipping in
the swift winds. Dead ahead was the Defragmented Mountains.
Matt and another Internet Guardian braced themselves on Omnimon's other shoulder. "I just hope we're not too late," he prayed. "If anything were to happen to TK and Kari..."
"It won't," Omnimon assured his human partners. "I'm going to make sure of that."

Present: The Defragmented Mountains
HeraldAngemon Advanced swung his scepter down, aiming it directly for the Talisman of Light.
HARMONIOUS HEALING!
A wide beam of lavender light shot forth from the Scepter of Hope, striking the talisman dead center. And through the talisman, this single ray of energy became millions of crystal shards, each one piercing through the sky like a hot laser and impaling OmniNegabyte with an energy so incredibly powerful.
"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!" OmniNegabyte
wailed, falling backward and crashing into the rocky mountains. "THAT
LIGHT!!!!" His leather-rough skin began to melt as energized crystals
bore into it. The pain felt like countless electrical explosions
overtaking him. It was the one attack he could never overcome.
It was the combined powers of Hope and Light.
Kari jumped up and down. "It's working!" she cheered. Everyone there could see the effect the attack was having on the evil monster.
Cody relaxed a bit, still feeling scared for his friends, Veric and Tsuriai, but less so now that HeraldAngemon Advanced seemed to be turning the tide of the battle. "Get him, guys," he balled his fist. Just seeing OmniNegabyte in pain made him feel better. Maybe Tsuriai and Veric would survive and defeat Negabyte after all. Maybe they still had the chance to finally go home and be with the family they missed so much.
But Cody spoke too soon.
"RAAAGH!" OmniNegabyte gruffed. Caught under a hailstorm of energized crystals, the beast tried to pick himself up, desperately shielding his face with a mammoth arm. "I...can't...lose..." he growled between clenched teeth. Slowly, painfully, he got up to at least a kneeling position. HeraldAngemon Advanced's attack was unrelenting. "Not...this...time..." He focused his fiery orange eyes on the angel above him. "Not...when I'm...this...close..."
All
of a sudden, Magnadramon's eyes got wide. "Oh, no!" She
spotted OmniNegabyte crawling back up to his hands and knees. She could
also see the monster glaring at the digimon who attacked him. The evil
monster was practically frothing at the mouth he was so angry and thirsty for
blood. Magnadramon suddenly realized that something was about to
happen. "Herald Angemon!!!" she shouted as loud as she
could. "WATCH OUT!!!!!"
But she was too late.
OmniNegabyte lunged forward. "Come here!" he roared. The monster dove for HeraldAngemon Advanced, grabbing the digimon and plucking him right out of the sky.
"Oh!" everyone gasped. "HeraldAngemon!"
His orange eyes burning, the bloodied and beaten OmniNegabyte reared his arm back and then punched it straight into the chest of the digimon he held. He reveled in the screams and cries of pain while his claw tore through the angel's torso. "AAAAHHHHH!!!!!" HeraldAngemon Advanced wailed. He tried desperately to remove OmniNegabyte's claw from his chest, grabbing and pushing at it. But he was trapped and losing power fast.
Seraphimon dove through the air, gunning directly for OmniNegabyte.
Seven Heavens!
His fellow digimon were close behind.
Fire Tornado!
Kachina Bomb!
But
the black monster was unphased by their attacks. OmniNegabyte snarled with
hungry pleasure while he pulled his fist out. He had gotten what he
wanted. "Like I always say," he looked straight at HeraldAngemon
so full of pain. "Purge the human, and you'll purge the digimon,
too."
Veric shot his eyebrows up. As OmniNegabyte removed his arm from his torso, he could feel something being wrenched out of him. "SURI!!!!!"
Cody and Tsuriai's father both witnessed the monster tearing something out of HeraldAngemon Advanced. And from their close proximity, they could see exactly what that something was. In OmniNegabyte's hand laid the lifeless, glowing figure of a human. "NOOOOO!!!!!" they cried, tears welling up in their eyes. "SURI!!!!!!"
