Present: The Defragmented Mountains
Suddenly, the ghostly boy and the digimon with
him began to move. Ryoichi pointed to an object in one of his father's
hands.
"My digivice?" Mr. Takaishi asked, stunned.
Then the ghost of his son pointed in the direction of Tsuriai's fallen digimon.
"HeraldAngemon," the Future Guardian realized.
But Tsuriai's father shook his head, confused. "I don't understand," he said. "How can I...?"
Supreme Canon!
Ryoichi's ghost stepped forward, placing a finger on his lips to quiet his frantic father. Then he reached a translucent hand forward, stopping just in front of his dad's heart. At the same time, he used the other hand to point at the injured angel. The Future Guardian hung in the air, watching the ghost of her friend closely. "I think he wants you to use your digivice to help HeraldAngemon," she figured the best she could. But the boy shook his head. "No?" she asked.
Then the ghost indicated his father's heart once again, pointing at the same time to Tsuriai's digimon.
The Future Guardian thought this over. "He's telling you that you have the power to help HeraldAngemon," she said. Ryoichi's ghost nodded, smiling. Then the boy moved his arms, flexing them in an exaggerated manner. The Internet Guardian suddenly grew brighter, her face lighting up. "Oh!" she exclaimed. "Strength! He says you can give him strength!"
Ryoichi's ghost smiled, returning his gaze to his father. Mr. Takaishi looked down at the boy. "I think I understand, now," he nodded slowly. "You're saying that HeraldAngemon can use me."
Dragon Fire!
The Future Guardian grew excited. "Why not?" she asked. "YOU are Tsuriai's father. Her energy and the Crest of Harmony are derived in part from YOU!"
"So Veric can rely, in part, on me!" Mr. Takaishi's angel-blue eyes lit up with comprehension.
The
ghostly form of Ryoichi nodded, smiling. Then, after taking one last look
at his father, the boy turned and began to leave, followed by the ghosts of four
digimon. He paused a moment, looking fondly at
the human-like form of the Internet
Guardian who had been his friend and had guided him and his sister. He
reached a wraith-like hand up and touched her luminous face.
"Oh!" the Future Guardian gave a tiny gasp. Her cheek
quickly displayed a hint of pink. "Ryo..." The boy just
smiled at her, then turned his gaze toward an injured angel. Then, just as
quickly as they had appeared, Ryoichi, Tonakaimon, Leomon, Centaurumon, and
Chulak vanished.
"No!" Mr. Takaishi ran for them, almost tripping over himself. But they were gone before he could catch them. "Wait!"
Seven Heavens!
"Where are they going?" Kari asked, her eyes full of concern.
The Future Guardian floated up higher, hanging in the air above the three humans with her. "To help HeraldAngemon."

Cody
leapt down from a fragment of hovering stone. "Suri!" He
spotted the unconscious girl, the fingers of OmniNegabyte's amputated arm still
wrapped around her. When Omnimon cut it off, the arm fell several
kilometers to the bottom of one of the defragmented mountains, rolling down the
jagged hillside before stopping where it landed. Cody could see the cuts
and bruises and bloodstains on Tsuriai's pale face. Without wasting any
time, the boy went straight to work, driven by fear to rescue this young woman
who meant so much to him. Adrenaline pumped through his veins like fuel,
providing him with the strength he needed to get her out. "Suri!"
His grip firm on her shoulders while he pulled her out, he could feel her body
slowly sliding out of OmniNegabyte's dead arm. "Come on..." he
gritted his teeth. Suddenly, the boy fell back, Tsuriai laying on top of
him. She was out! "Oh, Suri!" he called her name.
Quickly, he got up, lifting her torso and cradling her upper body in his
arms. "Suri, say something!"
Kachina Bomb!
"Unnnnhhhhh...." came her answer. Groggily, weakly, her head turned to the side while she moaned. Her body was racked with pain, and it was freezing cold from having been torn away from her digimon unwillingly.
Cody hugged the girl. "Oh, Suri!" he sighed with relief. "I thought you were..."
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the dark-haired boy spotted the shoes and feet of several creatures that had magically appeared. "What?" he raised his eyebrows. He lifted his head with a start, instinctively pulling Tsuriai closer into him as if to protect her from the unexpected visitors. But once he saw who it was that snuck up on him, the boy froze.
There,
like spectral ghosts, stood a young man, a human, and four digimon.
"Oh!" Cody sucked in his breath.
Hallowed Knuckle!
Fire Tornado!
The human boy, whom Cody had never seen before, approached him and came down on one knee, his angel-blue eyes focused on the bloodied and bruised Tsuriai. Cody could tell that this ghost, as well as the ghosts of Tonakaimon, Leomon, Chulak, and Centaurumon, were extremely saddened. The translucent Ryoichi reached a careful hand out and grazed the side of his sister's cheek. Then, unexpectedly, he looked up at Cody. Though his eyes were still sad, the ghost tried to give him a faint smile, as if thanking him. Cody just stared, not knowing what to think or say or do. He didn't know if what he was seeing was real. He didn't even know who this ghost was!
Finally, Ryoichi stood back up. He and the ghost digimon disappeared. Cody kept staring in wonderment, but then a faint voice caught his attention.
"Hmmmm.....?"
Cody immediately returned his attention to the girl in his arms. "Suri!" he smiled. She was stirring a bit.
Transected Sword!
The aching girl blinked her eyes open, trying to get them to focus. "Cody...?" she asked, her voice scratchy and tired.
The green-eyed boy just hugged her to his chest, thankful she was alive. "You're going to be alright," he told her, almost choking up. "You're going to be alright."
