Cards of Destiny!

"Huh?"  TK tried desperately to turn and see what was happening.  Several specks of light slashed through the air, some of them striking the Viral Agent that held Patamon!  "What's going on!"

And then that magical creature appeared again.  This time he was flying below the Viral Agent, his staff gripped in his hands and ready to strike.

Sorcerer's Staff!

Majutsumon swung his wooden staff, slamming it into the Agent's legs.  It took only one hit for the monster to let go of his bounty.  "Gotcha!" the Ultimate-level digimon grunted when he caught Patamon's limp body.  The little digital monster was still unconscious.  "Now for TK..."

Quickly, before the first Viral Agent could react to what had just happened, the magical digimon dashed to another one.  First, he let loose a barrage of fire-hot razor-like cards, then immediately followed with another blow from his magical staff to free the human boy that would Tsuriai's father while his captor was distracted.

"Whoa!" TK gasped.  Before he knew it, the Viral Agent holding him lost its grip.  But he wasn't falling through the air for long.  The same creature that freed him also caught him and whisked him and Patamon away as fast as he could!

"Hold on tight, Mr. Takaishi!" the mysterious savior instructed.  Now all three of them dove through the air, cutting through the wind.  Below them, on the ground, a giant white digimon chased after them.  And above them, two Viral Agents chased them as well.

Mr. Takaishi?!?!  The blonde boy held onto his hat while it flapped in the wind.  "Who are you?" he yelled over the roaring winds.  In all the excitement, Veric called TK by the name he was used to calling him...Mr. Takaishi.

"My name is Majutsumon," the mystical creature answered with serious urgency.  His attention was focused on reaching Vikemon below and getting away from the Viral Agents that hounded him.  As weak as he was, Majutsumon had no power to fight.  That's why he and Tsuriai decided to grab their friends and run.  At that very moment, the blonde girl was headed for Kari and Gatomon.  The plan was to free everyone and then lead the Viral Agents, who would surely come after them, to Vikemon.  He was the only digimon strong enough to defeat the monsters.  "You will remember me as Rakunamon and Momongamon."

"Oh!" TK's mouth dropped in astonishment.  "You're Tsuriai's digimon?!?"

"Ultimate level." Majutsumon went on.  But there was no time for talk.  They were close enough to the ground now.  Actually, the ground was now a sandy shore.  They had traveled so far that they'd come to a digital ocean!  "Vikemon!" the magical digital monster shouted.

"I'm on it!" the furry giant roared.  Quickly, he set his sights and aimed his attack.

Arctic Blizzard!

The blistering winds tossed the Viral Agents about, throwing them to the sand.  Majustumon skidded to a rough landing.  "Ugh!" he gritted his teeth.

"Veric!" Cody called from his place on Vikemon's helmet.  His hands were cupped around his hands.

The sorcerer digimon swung around at the sound of his name.  He spotted a young man high above him atop Vikemon's head, waving at him.  "Cody!"  Immediately, he launched himself back in the air, kicking sand up as he left.  TK and Patamon were in his arms.

The dark-haired boy watched as the robed digimon hovered to a position near him.  "Veric!" Cody shouted.  "Where's Suri?"

Majutsumon carefully placed TK and Patamon on Vikemon's helmet with the aid of the young man.  "She's still up there!" he answered.  The magical digital monster pointed his staff in the direction of a few dark figures quickly fading out of sight.  The Viral Agents were getting away and Tsuriai was chasing after them.

"Go get them, Majutsumon!" Vikemon bellowed.  He was swinging two of his axes with an unyielding fury against two attackers.

Veric wasn't about to argue.  As soon as he felt TK and Patamon were safe, he bolted out of there like a fierce lighting bolt.  But his power was waning now at an increasing rate.  With all the magic he was using to maintain his form and the wings he gave Tsuriai, his energy was draining faster and faster.

"Oh!" TK gasped.  He couldn't believe what he was seeing.  He wasn't even sure WHAT he was seeing.  It looked like Tsuriai's digimon was caught between two forms!  He could see the glittering robes giving way to a furry tail!  He could see the wooden staff vanishing!  More of Momongamon was beginning to show!  "What's happening to him?!?!"

"Tsuriai!" Kari screamed.  She could see the monster coming straight for them.  "Watch out!"  It was incredible!  Tsuriai had somehow grown wings and come to her rescue.  Now the brown-haired girl hugged her rescuer for dear life as the blonde girl swooped through the air, running from a rather infuriated Viral Agent in a daring escape.  But then, out of nowhere, something flashed before Kari's eyes, intercepting the Agent.  It was a creature she had never seen before.  And now it engaged the monster in an intense fight.  But something was wrong.  Is that Momongamon?! Kari wondered.  He was almost unrecognizable as his body phased from one form to another.

And then, the most horrific thing happened.

"Unh!" a bloodied Momongamon groaned.  His body was bruised and cut.  The last blow from the Viral Agent used up the last of his strength.  Majutsumon was gone...and so was his magic...

Suddenly, the girls started plummeting toward the dark ocean below.

"My wings!" Tsuriai cried.  With Veric having lost all his energy, the feathered wings returned to their real state.  She no longer had the power to fly, and now, the only thing she could do was try to get control of her glider wings for a safer descent.  But there was no escaping their eventual plunge into the water.

Weak and exhausted, Momongamon dropped through the air.  He was unconscious and falling like a dead weight through the sky.

"Momongamon!" Kari wailed.  She was so frightened at the sight of the giant digital monster tumbling to the icy water.

"Veric!" Tsuriai's eyes welled up.  "No!"

All of a sudden, Kari let out a shrill scream.  "Tsuriai!  Look out!"  But the warning was too late.  In the next instant, Tsuriai and Kari found themselves locked in the gripping vice of the Viral Agent.  The monster curled its claws around Kari's body while the brown-haired girl hugged onto Tsuriai.

"Don't let go!" the blonde girl shouted.  "I'll fall!"

Kari opened her eyes and looked down between them.  Tsuriai was right.  The only reason the Viral Agent had her too was because she was still holding onto her.  This gave Kari an idea.  "Tsuriai!"

"Huh?" she turned to face her future mother.  Their noses could touch, they were so close.

"I can't let them take you, too," Kari spoke up.  "I won't let them!"

"What?" Tsuriai's eyes suddenly got wide.  "What are you saying?!"  And then, the blonde girl could feel it.  Kari was loosening her hold around her.

"I know you'll find help..." Kari whispered.  Both of them stared into each other's matching burgundy eyes, tears welling up.

And then, she finally let go.  Tsuriai fell through the air, wailing, "Nooooo!!!!!"  Kari watched with an aching heart as the blonde girl stretched her arms up, as if trying reach for her while she cried, "Mooooommmmm!!!!!!!"

"Suri!" Cody yelled.

TK saw the same thing.  "Kari!"

The two boys stood atop Vikemon's helmet, Patamon resting in the blonde boy's arms.  After having defeated the Viral Agents, Cody's Mega-level digimon ran to the ocean's edge, unable to go any further as he watched his friend, Majutsumon, go after the other two humans.  There was nothing any of them could do except watch from their place on the shore while a Viral Agent beat Tsuriai's digimon to a pulp.  And now, two figures dove through the air toward the lapping waves of the cold ocean.

"No!" they all screamed.

"Vikemon!" Cody shouted.  "Dedigivolve and use the Digi-Egg of Reliability!"

"You got it!"  It took only seconds for Cody's digimon to do this.  TK jumped down to the sandy shore.  

Digi Armor Energize!

Armadillomon digivolve to...Submarimon!

"Okay, Cody!" Submarimon called out.  "Let's go!"

Both TK and Cody got inside the submarine-like digital monster, Patamon curled in the blonde boy's arms.  The Champion-level digimon didn't need to be told what to do.  In a flash, he jumped into the water and shot forth like a torpedo.  Two of his friends were in danger and he was the only one who could help them.

With Submarimon's speed, it didn't take long to find their fallen comrades.  Two unconscious figures sank in the cold water.  One was Rakunamon, and the other was Tsuriai.   "There they are!" TK pointed in their direction.  "And they're knocked out!"

"We're not alone, guys!" Submarimon's voice was urgently concerned.  He flashed his lights ahead.  "Look!"

"Oh, no!" both the human boys sucked in their breaths.  "It's Devimon!"
