Present: The Digital World
Lightning
Arrow!
Valkyrimon set his eagle eye on some
approaching Viral Agents, aiming his crossbow straight for their hearts and
letting the arrow fly. Within
a second, the arrow hit its mark, piercing one monster, passing through its
body, and then doing the same for two more Agents behind him.
Some of the other digimon were not too
far away.
Water Tail Blaster!
Positron Laser!
Preciomon and Imperialdramon were having just as much success. But the digimon of the Digi-Destined weren't the only ones tearing it up with the unwelcome Viral Agents. Every type and level of digital monster was present in this war zone, fighting for their home, fighting for their lives. Negabyte and all his cohorts, Pirate and Agent, had tortured and brutalized the Digital World and its inhabitants long enough. Now it was time to pay them back.
Boltmon threw his weapon into the back of an Agent.
Tomahawk Crunch!
And near this Frankenstein-looking digital monster was another Mega-level digimon. SkullMammothmon stampeded toward a small group of Viral Agents that had unwittingly gathered just in front of him.
Spiral Bone Crusher!
But there weren't just Mega-level digimon out there. Digital monsters of all levels were defending their world.
"Oh,
man!" Davis nudged Ken in the side. "Take a look at THAT
one!"
Just in front of them was an Ultimate-level digimon. A rather spooky-looking one at that. Asuramon was a wizard digimon, but looked more like some kind of voodoo priest or medicine man. They watched as it pummeled its fist into the face of a Viral Agent.
The Fist of Asura!
Even Syakomon, a Rookie-level digital monster, was giving the fight all he could.
Black Pearl Blast!
Not to mention all the Champion-level guys like Hyogamon and ShimaUnimon!
Throwing Ice!
Wild Thunder!
Omnimon
pulled his sword from the dissolving body of a Viral Agent. "I never
thought I'd be fighting alongside the likes of Devimon," the knight digimon
admitted.
"No joke!" Tai agreed. He and Matt were perched on either of their digimon's shoulders, holding on as Omnimon terminated Agent after Agent.
The blonde boy was equally as amazed. "This has got to be the biggest battle in digimon history!" he exclaimed.
"You are correct," replied an unexpected voice. It was one neither Tai nor Matt had ever heard before.
Omnimon spun around, discovering two spheres of sparkling light just behind him.
"Whoa!" Matt and Tai raised their eyebrows. They had never seen anything like these creatures before.
Tai leaned forward. "What kind of digimon are YOU?"
But Omnimon recognized them from the days he and the other digimon were captured and locked away in Negabyte's dungeons. "These aren't digimon, Tai," he corrected the young man. "These are Internet Guardians."
Matt
pointed at them. "So YOU'RE the little guys who found my brother and
his friends," he figured it out. "Cody told us about you in his
e-mail."
"Yes," one of the Internet Guardians conceded. "You are correct."
"You were also correct when you said that this war was the biggest battle the Digital World had ever seen," the other Guardian spoke up. "If we survive this day, we shall record it as such in the archives of the Digital Universe."
The
brown-haired boy shrugged his shoulders. "Well THAT shouldn't take
too long," he said. The young man gestured to the diminishing number
of Viral Agents on the field. "We should have these creepy monsters
wiped out in no time."
"Yeah," Matt agreed. "There aren't too many Agents left. The war will be over before we know it."
"But that is where you are wrong," the Internet Guardians spoke sadly, their brilliant light fading to a dim glow. "The battle will not be over when the Viral Agents are purged from the Digital World." For a moment, they paused, letting the information sink into the human's minds.
"Why not?" both Matt and Tai asked at the same time, almost angrily.
The Guardians hovered closer to the human boys and their giant digimon. "Look just past those mountains," they instructed the Digi-Destined. The young men could see flashes of light and hear rumbling thunder. "THAT is where the root of this evil is," they explained. "The winner of that battle will determine the fate of the Digital World." Then the mystic digital creatures provided the most crucial information, yet. "That is also where you will find your siblings and friends."

Present: The Defragmented Mountains
Black Nova!
Kachina Bomb!
Dragon Fire!
Tsuriai
stealthily made her way through the disjointed rocks that comprised the mountain
where the battle for the Digital World was taking place. Negabyte had
mutated into an even more powerful digital creature, one that she couldn't
delete with her Anti-Virus program and one that even several Mega-level digimon
had trouble with. It seemed that the digital monsters were being drained
of their energy faster than their enemy was. At this rate, OmniNegabyte
would have them all purged within the hour. Tsuriai couldn't let that
happen. She paused a moment, spying the night sky for her digimon.
HeraldAngemon hung in the sky, throwing attack after attack at OmniNegabyte.
And OmniNegabyte sent attacks right back, occasionally striking the Mega-level
digimon. Tsuriai scrunched her face in determination. "I'm
coming, Veric."
Heaven's Touch!
Kari and the young TK held each other as they watched Tsuriai's figure weaving in and out of floating rock fragments. The blonde girl was trying to get to her digimon without alerting OmniNegabyte. "Do you think she'll be alright?" the brown-haired girl spoke softly and sadly, her lip quivering and her heart beating fast with fear.
Plague of Darkness!
TK turned to see the two men behind him, one young and the other much older. Tsuriai's father and Cody stood beside one another, looking after the blonde girl with a watchful eye. He could see the worry and trepidation in their faces. All four of the people standing on that rock loved the girl who was risking her life for the sake of the Digital World and for the lives of her family and friends, past and future. "She's an amazing girl," TK finally answered, speaking loud enough so that Cody and the older version of himself could hear, as well. And they did. Both of them turned at the boy's words. "That's why the Future Guardian brought her here in the first place."
Hallowed Knuckle!
The Internet Guardian hovered in front of the group of humans, also keeping a close eye on the blonde girl. "Yes," she agreed. "Tsuriai will be the one to heal this world and bring peace to it once again. That is why she carries the Crest of Harmony," she said. "That is why she is the Messiah."
HeraldAngemon set himself up for another shot at the mutated monster below him.
Divine Elem...!
But
he was too late. OmniNegabyte beat him to the punch.
Black Nova!
Several balls of black fire blasted from the evil creature's mouth, careening straight for HeraldAngemon. "UGH!!!" the angel digimon grunted, taking the full impact of the attack. The next thing he knew, he was tumbling through the night sky. Within seconds he had crash-landed into a hovering rock fragment. "Uuuhhhnnnn...." he moaned, tired and a bit dazed.
But, unexpectedly, he felt a pair of small hands lay themselves on his torso. "Veric," a familiar voice spoke his name sadly, worriedly. "Are you okay?"
Fire Tornado!
The angel digimon blinked his eyes open, discovering a most welcome sight. "Tsuriai..." his scratchy voice called her name. He was surprised to see her there, kneeling beside him and checking him for injury. "What are you doing...?"
The blonde girl placed a finger on his lips. "Shhh..." she instructed him. "We haven't got much time." She turned her attention to the black monster nearby. "I know how to defeat Negabyte," she informed him.
"What?!" HeraldAngemon sat up with a start.
Seven Heavens!
Tsuriai explained right away. "We're going to have to Fusion Digivolve," she began. The girl went on to describe her plan. They were to digivolve together to become HeraldAngemon Advanced, and then Kari and TK would give them the Armor Digi-Eggs of Light and Hope to use against OmniNegabyte. "We'll have to transform them into the Talisman of Light and the Scepter of Hope," the blonde girl went on. "And because Ryo and his digimon aren't here to help us this time, we're going to have to charge them up by ourselves."
Plague of Darkness!
"But, Suri," HeraldAngemon shook his head. "Will we have enough power to pull it off?"
In
all honesty, Tsuriai had no clue, but it didn't matter. "We HAVE
to," she answered him, her tone of voice low and serious. "Even
if it means we have to..."
The girl didn't even finish her sentence. She didn't have to. Her Mega-level digimon looked into her determined eyes and gave a single, knowing nod. "I understand."
Justice Beam!
"Alright then," Tsuriai stood up. She grabbed the hand of her digimon partner and best friend, assisting him up, as well. Then, she turned around to face the ugly battle before her. She stood there while HeraldAngemon wrapped his arms around her from behind. For a moment, they just watched the gruesome fight. Both of their hearts beat fast, the blood burning and adrenaline coursing through their bodies like electricity.
"Let's do this!"
